Driving In

Where to park

Putney is well served by public transport, and we'd always recommend leaving the car at home if you're enjoying the wine list. If you are driving, these are your best options.

Closest car park · approx. 4 min walk

Putney Exchange Car Park

P
  • Entrance on Lacy Road, off Putney High Street. Sat nav: SW15 1NH
  • Mon–Fri 6am–10pm · Sat–Sun 8am–8pm
  • From £4.40 for up to 2 hours · £12 maximum for the day
  • Around 250 spaces, disabled and parent bays, EV charging, 2m height limit

The car park closes at 10pm on weekdays and 8pm at weekends, and charges a release fee for cars left after closing. For a late dinner, on-street parking is usually the better choice.

Best for evenings & Sundays

On-Street Parking

  • Putney's controlled parking zones are generally enforced Monday to Saturday, ending by 6.30pm, with no controls on Sundays.
  • That means most residents' and pay-and-display bays on the side streets are free to use in the evening and all day Sunday.
  • During controlled hours, town-centre visitor bays are pay-by-phone or pay-and-display, usually with a 1–2 hour maximum stay.
  • Putney High Street is a busy bus route — please don't stop outside. Use a side road or the car park.

Hours vary street by street. Always check the signs where you park, and never park on single or double yellow lines during restricted times.

Guaranteed space

Book a private space

Residents and businesses around SW15 rent out driveways and private bays by the hour. Reserve one in advance through a parking app and you won't need to circle the block.

Short stops

Drop-offs & short stays

Lower Richmond Road, just around the corner, has 30-minute shoppers' pay-and-display bays, and the roads off Putney High Street have one-hour bays during controlled hours.
